Our ear are tickling to hear the next version of Google Android operating system. It seems that we don’t need to wait for such a long period, cause the Motorola has developed a new tablet PC to enter into the crowd world of the tablet computing market. Moreover, Motorola will install the latest Android version into the newest Motopad (the new term of Motorola’s “iPad” tablet).
Blackberry, Samsung, and now Motorola are all coming out with tablets that are 7-inch computerized slabs of screen. It will be interesting to see which one comes out ahead, since the world of tablets is proven to be hot. The 7-inch Motorola Droid Xoom Android-powered Motopad tablet seems to be on fire, but a Motopad’s 10-inch version is also planned. Motorola will equipped their new tablet with a fast CPU, and a clear screen. One of the first public viewings of the Motorola HoneyComb Tablet was with Andy Rubin, the man behind the Android operating system. His version was a 10-inch version of this tablet. For comparison, the Apple iPad has a 9.7-inch screen.
Looking on the inside of the Motorola Droid Xoom Android-based Motopad tablet, we find it is going to have a dual core processor, like the Blackberry. The Blackberry runs an ARM CPU while the Motorola Xoom tablet is probably going to have the NVidia CPU. This is a great news, since it is powerful and less energy consumption. Time between battery charges will be longer thanks to the dual core design, especially if Motorola uses an NVidia Tegra 250 CPU. We still haven’t provided with any information yet on the size of the internal memory for the Xoom Motopad tablet, but we expect around 16GB and the option to use a MicroSD card.
So what kind of camera will the Android-Motopad have? It looks like the Motorola Xoom tablet will have a 5MP rear camera and a front facing camera as well. The camera on the front will be 2MP in size. With the aforementioned CPU running this Motopad, there should be no problem outputting high definition video at 1080p format.
Since Android 2.4 has already been shown to the world on this Xoom Motopad, let’s take a look at it. This is a version that is specifically developed for handy tablets. Older versions, such as Android 2.2 Froyo were not ready for the applications that would appear on the screen of a tablet. However, it did not stop some enterprises, like Samsung from coming out with their tablet. It had the 2.2 Froyo version of Android operating system. The Android 2.4 HoneyComb version will take care of the resolution problem when it is used in a tablet scenario. Android is a free license software (open source project) that is available to be used in a variety of mobile devices. It currently has around 180,000 cool Android applications and games in its marketplace. For comparison, the Apple iTunes store has over 250,000 applications available in its store. Android operating system comes with a Webkit browser that displays flash files for a rich web experience. Android HoneyComb operating system comes with the new version of Google Maps 5.0 that finally allows people to use them offline.

If you happen to see a tablet PC online with the name of “Stingray”, that is the earlier codename for this Motorola Xoom Motopad tablet. One of the versions of this tablet is going to be 4G-ready, but it’s still rumored. That is great news for heavy surfers, or frequent downloaders. The Motorola Xoom Android tablet will be coming out on the Verizon network for an undisclosed price. Motorola Droid Xoom tablet will be available on the mobile market starting Feb 11, 2011 and a optional LTE (4G) model will be available too.
