It is still unknown how much the price of HTC Legend for the retail users. We will venture to make a guess that it will be in the range between 700-800 USD, a tad cheaper than the HTC Desire, and obviously more expensive than the already available HTC Hero. It is expected to be available in April, although it may well see release later than that.

Who will find the HTC Legend appealing? We predict that sooner or later it will push the good old HTC Hero out of the market; by the way the latter will get a major firmware update to Android version 2.1 in March or April and then HTC will be done with it. And that is reasonable, since HTC should not waste their resources on keeping their rapidly aging handset up to date, given that new versions of Android come out on a regular basis.

Therefore, if your HTC Hero seems too sluggish and fragile - the HTC Legend might be right choice to fulfill your need.

For the comparison between HTC Legend and HTC Hero, the HTC Legend got:

• More capable platform Qualcomm MSM7227 (600Mhz vs. the Hero’s 528MHz)
• New version of Android (probably 2.1)
• More RAM (384 Mb vs. 288 Mb)
• New version of HTC Sense
• Flash module for the camera
• Bluetooth 2.1 (vs. the Hero’s Bluetooth 2.0)
• FM-radio
• Although it does not have hardware Call and End keys
• Optical trackball
• Aluminum casing
